Vermilion Lake and Mount Rundle after sunset, CanadaLocation information

From a young age I wanted to travel the world. One reason could be the fact that I was born in a small village and always wanted to see what else there was out there. Another is my love for nature and landscape. I have a very long list of places to visit, unfortunately though, I will not manage to visit them all, not enough time within a lifetime.

So, when the opportunity arose for visiting the Canadian Rockies, there was no way I would let it pass me by. Jasper and Banff national parks are two of my all time favourites places in the world. With countless emerald colour lakes and mountains as high as the heavens, as well as glaciers and icebergs, one can’t fail to see why these regions attract millions of visitors every year.

Obviously I was all over the moon when visited the two national parks and I must admit that, I was a bit overwhelmed the first couple of days. There is so much to see in such little time that it feels like you are in constant trance. Once there, you can’t believe your eyes and once back home, you can’t believe you have been. The place is magical and every landscape photographer should visit it at least once.

Among the locations we will visit are: Lake Pyramid, Edith Cavell Glacier Lake and Horseshoe Lake. Athabasca Falls, Tangle Creek Falls and Saskatchewan river. Vermilion Lakes, Emerald Lake and Lake Louise. Bow, Peyto and Moraine Lakes and…I better stop here before I give you a heart attack.

As we will spend around a week at the Rockies, I have hand picked all locations in our itinerary, in order to make sure we get to visit the top spots. It’s impossible to visit all prime location in the two National Parks, it would take us weeks or even months.

Why end of September? Because we want to combine the stunning views of the Rockies and lakes with Fall (Autumn) colours. As you can see from the pictures, there is abundance of golden foliage at this time of year, Aspen trees could not look nicer.
